The Venue is a 200 to 500 capacity live music venue situated in the heart of Derby’s thriving City Centre, we aim to provide Derby with quality music acts all year round, from up and coming bands to well-known established bands and everything in between.
As well as constantly supporting local live music through our flagship Radar Love night, The Venue has played host to some of the best live acts in the country, including Foals, Frank Turner, The Charlatans, Ash, British Sea Power, Wolf Alice, Gomez, The Struts, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Craig Charles, The Sugarhill Gang, Pale Waves, Cabbage, The Wedding Present, Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, Skindred, Hayseed Dixie, The Menzingers, Every Time I Die, Deap Valley, PINS, Demob Happy, The Bluetones, Lucy Spraggan, Yonaka, Pulled Apart By Horses, Dr John Cooper Clarke, JAWS, The Blinders, Peace, Will Varley, Beans on Toast, Cast, the Skids, Slow Readers Club, Sleeper, Sleaford Mods and The Subways to name just a few.
The Venue can be opened as a 200, 350 or 500 capacity standing live music venue. The capacity of the room can be adjusted using portable partitioning allowing us to create the perfect live atmosphere for shows. We also have the option to host seated events with a capacity of 250 in a theatre style setting.
Stage, PA and Lighting
The stage has hosted bands of up to 11 piece and is fully lit with LED Par cans, moving heads and effects as well as theatre quality hazer. Lighting desk is also available on site, but others can be hired in. The Venue does not have a permanently installed PA rig, choosing instead to hire in specifically to meet band specs.
Disabled Access / Carers Tickets
We usually allow one carer per disabled customer (the customer must have a valid ticket), we require proof of PIP for the customer (ticket holder) on the night and the +1 will be able to accompany the ticket holder for the show. We do not have a designated viewing platform or disabled area (as we are very small in space) but we do cater for everyone’s needs as best and safely as we can. The stage is at such a height that artists are visible from all corners of the venue.
Wheelchair access is only two steps, there is a ramp at the venue to get up and down these steps.
