LITTLE COMETS

After 18 months of climbing internal walls and writing songs, Little Comets are finally able to return to the live arena with a series of September gigs in Grassroots Music Venues across the UK. As part of the #ReviveLive Scheme, the north east trio will traverse the country playing to audiences finally allowed back into venues after months of inertia. Generously supported by the National Lottery and the Music Venue Trust, the initiative gives a lifeline to artists, crews and venues alike.

Book one ticket, invite one friend, bring one proof of being a National Lottery player, and get two tickets for the price of one!

RICHARD HAWLEY

Richard Hawley is an English singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. After his first band Treebound Story (formed while he was still at school) broke up, Hawley found success as a member of Britpop band Longpigs in the 1990s.

After that group broke up in 2000, he later joined the band Pulp, led by his friend Jarvis Cocker, for a short time. 

As a solo musician, Hawley has released eight studio albums.

He has been nominated for a Mercury prize twice and once for a Brit Award.

the Brighton indie four-piece will be in Derby this Aug as part of the Music Venue Trust and The National Lottery's "Revive Live Tours" - The free ticket holder must just need to demonstrate you're a National Lottery player by showing either a physical ticket or one on the app at the door. This could be a weekly draw ticket or a scratch card and they must be over 18 to purchase and hold a National Lottery product. Creating mind-bending dances with an abundance of energy, his presence has made him globally recognised. Join Bez for a fascinating interview about his years in The Happy Mondays. You will also hear his take on the Manchester music scene and truly incredible first-hand accounts of mad incidents and the rock & roll capers he is renowned for. MARSEILLE

Formed during lockdown, Marseille are fresh on the indie music scene. Reminiscent of The Stone Roses and Oasis, the band set themselves apart with music positing itself firmly in 2021 accented by that Derby twang. Marseille gained recognition on BBC Introducing who picked up their debut track ‘Worlds Gone Mad’ receiving airplay on BBC Radio Derby, BBC Radio Nottingham and BBC Radio Leicester. The exciting trio are ones to watch with their curation of music during the pandemic and with only a virtual audience to prove themselves.

Sam is a veteran of the mighty Bellowhead, former artistic director of the National Folk Youth Ensemble, founder member of the acclaimed instrumental trio Leveret, and a superb instrumentalist at the forefront of the revival in English traditional music. Sam will play The Venue Derby on 2nd December 2021.

THE SHERLOCKS

With their 2017 debut album 'Live For The Moment’, Sheffield quartet The Sherlocks established themselves as key contenders in a new wave of British bands keeping alt-rock and indie vital for a new generation of fans. The album fired into the charts at #6 as the band inspired devotion wherever they went, from shows with Liam Gallagher, an international array of festival dates to rapturously received shows in Japan. The Sherlocks will be at The Venue, Derby as part of a UK tour this October.

THE CLONE ROSES & THE SMITHS LTD

The infamous Christmas night out with Clone Roses and The Smiths Ltd is back at The Venue on Friday 3 December. These shows have sold out year on year with tickets available now for 2021. The Stone Roses appeared to have now split up, so for Roses fans there is only 1 option to hear those songs played with the same passion and energy as the real thing. Their attention to detail is second to none, with the band acquiring the same clothing, instruments and usually play the same set as The Roses themselves.

Foolhardy Folk Musician Beans on Toast will be doing a tour of some of his favourite independent venues this December. Singing simple songs about complicated subjects, the accomplished songwriter will be offering some hope and light relief from this bizarre world we find ourselves in. Festival favourite and veteran of the road, he can't wait to crawl out of the cocoon and get back to doing what he Loves. Expect songs, stories, laughing, drinking, thinking and celebrating.

More than a band, they are a family. “To listen to the Ferocious Dog as it snarls and growls at the world is to show responsibility” said a Louder Than War review of their brilliant, recently released and Fake News And Propaganda album, but this is an outfit that shows compassion too.
