RIDING THE LOW
Riding The Low were formed in 2006 by Paddy Considine, after he had a revelation watching indie rockers Guided By Voices. The band are named after a quote from a Lee Marvin biography that Considine had given his father as a gift. Upon reading the book after his father's death, Considine knew instantly that this would be the name of his band. All he needed now was to find the other musicians. Richard Eaton had been in bands with Considine since they were teenagers so it was a given Eaton would play bass. Through Eaton came Chris Baldwin and then Dan Baker on guitars, with a revolving seat of drummers, Riding The Low was born.
Justin Sullivan stepped out from New Model Army to release his second solo album in May this year, eighteen years after the first. He has now announced a 14 date solo tour where he will be playing tracks from the album and from his extensive New Model Army back catalogue. “Surrounded” is a collection of sixteen new songs, written in the first weeks of the 2020 lockdown. These songs are again guitar-vocal compositions highlighting Sullivan’s love of storytelling, wide open landscapes and powerful atmospheres.
Indie rockers The Twang will play The Venue Derby on 04 December as part of their Twangmas tour! Blending the big guitars and emotional swagger of Brit-pop with a subtle but clearly felt dance-friendly pulse, the Twang rose to success in the U.K. after making a splash on the club scene and earning the respect of the music press. The Twang were formed in 2004 in Birmingham by singer Phil Etheridge and bassist Jon Watkin under the name Neon Twang.

THIS SHOW HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED TO THURSDAY 23 SEPTEMBER 2021
Emerging early 2020, the Derby-hailing trio quickly drew keen attention and praise through their three singles to date, each luring increasing support and play across radio shows and stations globally. The threesome of vocalist/guitarist Brooke, bassist Anna Melidone, and drummer Mary Prince have bred a sound embracing a fusion of Alternative Rock and Grunge. It is a proposal proving as feral as it is radiant and fuelled by personal and observational experience.
in support of the release of her new album ‘Choices’ we are delighted to welcome Lucy Spraggan back to Derby this December. A witty English singer/songwriter with a sound that combines elements of folk and indie pop, Lucy Spraggan charted in the U.K. following a well-received audition on The X Factor in 2012. She drew acclaim for her third album, 2015's introspective We Are, and continued to find favor both at home and abroad with vibrant efforts like Today Was a Good Day (2019) and Choices (2021) that celebrate inclusivity and champion the LGBTQ community.

Festival favourite and veteran of the road, he can't wait to crawl out of the cocoon and get back to doing what he Loves. Expect songs, stories, laughing, drinking, thinking and celebrating.
back for another high energy performance, our good friends Ferocious Dog will return to Derby on Sunday 17 October. More than a band, they are a family. “To listen to the Ferocious Dog as it snarls and growls at the world is to show responsibility” said a Louder Than War review of their brilliant, recently released and Fake News And Propaganda album, but this is an outfit that shows compassion too.

Arguably the band’s most controversial release (the band considered it as a protest album), not only did it do more than anything in pop culture to encourage a generation to become vegetarians, it was the first album to introduce Morrissey’s criticism of the Royal Family. The Smyths present “Meat is Murder “ + more is a 2 set 2 hour show that will celebrate the album in it’s entirety alongside Smiths classics and hits.
